A citizen of Moldova wanted for the past seven years for theft, was arrested at the Moldova - Ukraine borders, on the morning of April 6 2018, around 500 meters from the border line.

Border Guards patrolling the area noticed a man who explained his presence at the borders by claiming to be performing agricultural works. The man lacked any IDs and was therefore escorted to the precinct for identification.

It was established that the 44-year-old man was a villager from Grimăncăuți. Furthermore, the database showed that he was wanted by Ciocana Police Inspectorate since 2011. It was also discovered that during this time, the suspect hid from law enforcement and failed to appear in court.

Shortly after, the suspect was handed over to the police for investigation and proper measure imposed by law to be taken.
