Moldovan weightlifters are GLAD with their result at Rio Olympics
Alexandru Şpac is glad with his result at the Olympics. The Moldovan weightlifter got the 5th position in the 77-kg category.
"The result is very good, because I added 3 kilograms to the best result I scored at international competitions. It’s a very good step and shows we keep moving," the weightlifter said.
The sportsman from Bălţi recognizes he had no chance to fight for a medal: "I won’t be able to fight for a medal. Perhaps I’m not ready yet. The boys scored world, Olympic records. They were stronger. Let’s be real," Alexandru Şpac added.
Another weightlifter, Sergiu Cechir, got onto the seventh position in the 69-kg category.
He’s told Publika TV he is satisfied with his performance. For their results, the Moldovan Government is going to give Şpac 600,000 lei ($3,000), as Cechir will get 300,000 ($1,500).
"In order to start a family you need an apartment, but I don’t think you can buy one with this money. I thin I’ll put them aside," Cechir plans.
Alexandru Şpac scored the best result among the Moldovan sportspeople attending the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
