Moldovan woman to travel around the world as volunteer on a ship for two years
Iana Miheeva, resident of Capital has traveled around the world for two years in 45 countries as a volunteer.
She made new friends and experienced seven storms and learned to communicate by body languages. Arriving home, she is planning a new trip while sharing her experiences and organizing classes.
Jamaica, Seychelles, the Bahamas, Haiti, Lebanon, Malaysia and Madagascar - are just some of the countries that Iana Miheeva has visited.
She, 34, Chisinau resident, traveled on the ship Logos Hope for two years. She had worked for a few years in a charity organization in Chisinau previously.
"On one hand, boarding on a ship is interesting, on the other hand, it's complicated because 400 people from 60 countries stayed in a closed space", said Iana Miheeva.
Training prior to trip was not less stressful. She had been vaccinated 16 types of medicine against various tropical diseases. She never got sick thanks to these vaccines.
There were full of books on the ship to promote education in underdeveloped countries.
South Africa was the only country she felt like home and the most picturesque place was Seychelles. However, each country had its own impressions.
"I got on a tea plantation and hugged a bush of tea. I wanted to get to the island where Nelson Mandela was. I was on Robin Island as well", the volunteer shared her interesting stories.
Returning to Moldova, Iana had to adapt to her life again, but as soon as she returned to the country she was invited to work at a clothing and sports equipment store.
Now she helps beginner tourists to plan a trip properly and is delighted to share her experience.
"I felt like I became someone else. I learned from people. I can't, of course, speak 150 languages but I can understand, practically, what they say in any languages", said Iana Miheeva.
