More Moldovans complain their rights of privacy are violated. The number of petitions increases from year to year, according to the National Center for Personal Data Protection.
The files reached 500 in 2017 while they were registered only 15 in 2010. On the other hand, this fact shows that Moldovans become more aware of their rights and authorities are working more efficiently.
Mostly, complaints relate to the unauthorized installation of cameras, failure to protect personal data in case of investigations or trials, and disclosure of information regarding health condition.
Council of Europe marks January 28 as the Day of Data Protection.
