The Moldovans keep their savings in banks, which means they trust the bank system. According to "Capital Market" newspaper, 35,7 billion lei are kept by the Moldovans citizens in banks.
The rate at which deposits grow is much higher than the rate at which credit advances, Capital Capital writes. And individuals are the ones that boost lending. In particular, it is the loans granted under the "First Home" governmental program.
At the end of June, the balance was 8.5 billion lei, 9 percent more than in the previous quarter.
