Moldovans spend income on clothes and footwear twice as much compared to the EU citizens. 

According to the statics, the EU citizens spend five per cent of their income on shopping those things while our people spend almost 11 per cent. 

Some women, consider there are more important things than investing in their appearance. 

"I would like to invest on health than clothes". 

"The current generation makes balance between clothing and food as well as fun and travel". 

Sociologists explain this trend by the fact that Moldovans like to look good.

"A lot of people are heading for fashion, but very few consumers understand what quality means," said sociologist Viorica Antonov.

On the other hand, the stylists say that price does not always mean quality and good taste and assure that people can look good and without investing in too much expensive clothing.

According to Eurostat, residents in EU countries spend about 800 euros per year on clothing and footwear.
