Moldovans spent less on food, more on education and entertainment

The Moldovans start spending less on food and more on transportation, entertainment and education, according to recent official statistics. However food stays with the largest share in expenses.
In 2016, the Moldovans spent 36% of their money on food, down from over 40 % in 2014.
Also the lodging expenses dropped from 19 to 17.6 %. Instead, the transportation expenses grew from 6.2 to 7 %. The education-related expenses are also 0.6% up.
Last year, all in all the consumption expenses were 2,900 lei a month, that’s 8 % more than in 2015.
