Moldova's annual inflation decelerates insignificantly, National Bank forecast
National Bank has forecast the inflation rate of until 5.1% this year, 0.1% increase compared with the last prediction, presented the bank governor Octavian Armaşu. Moldova will witness the rate of 6.5% for 2020.
"The composition of inflation forecast shows the domination of prices for foodstuffs and of inflation based on throughout the forecast horizon. The regulated price will make a temporary shock, the fuel price rise will be insignificant", said governor Octavian Armaşu.
According to economic experts, this review will not lead to significant changes.
"This new rate is insignificant. An increase of 1.5% will be seen in 2020 which means an easy depreciation of national currency", said economic expert Roman Chircă.
The inflation in April was 3.2% while the government forecast an economic growth of 4% this year.
