Moldova's fruit export to Europe grew by 40% in 2017

This year, the export of plums from Moldova to Europe rose by 40% compared to 2016. The biggest quantity, of over 4 thousand tons, was taken to Poland.
A similar amount was exported to Romania, while Latvia has taken more than six hundreds tons. In the shops of ten countries from European Union are being sold 10 400 tons of fruits from Moldova. Therefore exceeding last year's numbers by 400 tons.
Still, exports to Russia were lowered. Moldova has exported to the east with nine thousand tons less than in 2016, with a total amount close to 18 415 tons.
This was the first year Moldova has exported both fresh and dried plums to USA, Canada and Iraq.
