Monthly allowances for victims of political repression increased for 400 lei

The monthly allowance for the victims of political repression was increased from 100 to 500 lei, starting September 1 st. Today, the Executive has approved the respective amendments in the Regulation on the way of setting and paying the monthly state allocations to certain categories of population.
The increased allowances will receive over 8,000 people, victims of political repression. For this purpose, the budget for the current year is set at 12.9 million lei.
"The proposed project provides for additional protection for victims of political repression during the years 1917-1990, regarding the increase of the amount of the state allowance by 400 lei.
At the same time, the project includes some modifications made as a result of reforming the social security system, according to which the National Social Insurance House became the only body with the right to establish and pay pensions and state social allowances.
The implementation of this project will be made from the account and the limit of the sums, the transfers from the state budget to the state social insurance budget planned for the year 2018, "said Silvia Radu.
The social package for victims of political repression was approved on July 4 at the initiative of Prime Minister Pavel Filip. It also includes free prophylactic medical exams, 50% discounts on sanitarium tickets and the completion of new ID cards. Also, in order to increase the level of social protection for the sufferers who suffered from the political repression, the unique material aid was increased up to 1000 lei.
