More and more hepatitis C patients receive free treatment. Moldovan Ministry of Health aims to cure at least 11 thousand people in 2018. Authorities say that in two years in our country there will be no more people suffering from this disease.
Last year, the Ministry of Health allocated 35 million lei for the purchase of medicines. Until mid-February, all the purchased lots will arrive in the country. Preparations for viral hepatitis C are purchased from Pakistan, India and Egypt, and provide 90 percent of the patient's treatment.
In order to benefit from the program, the patients must go to the infectious physician in the district and do all the necessary investigations. The results will be sent to the Ministry of Health and the patient will receive the necessary medication. The treatment lasts for about four months.
