The inflation was 1.2 % in Moldova in January. According to official statistics, the hike was caused by more expensive food and fuel.
The prices of fresh fruit and vegetables rose 14 % and 7 %, respectively.
The fuels were up 4 %.
Yet, the cost of the international railway transport dropped 6%.
The inflation was 2.4 % last year, four-year lowest. The National Bank predicted an inflation of 5.2 % for 2017.
