More state money to finance political parties
40 million lei will be earmarked this year in the state budget to finance political parties, that’s a million more than last year.
The Central Electoral Commission has set the amounts of financial allotments taking into account the parties’ performance at the elections in 2014 and 2015.
Thus, the parties get 1.11 lei per vote at the parliamentary elections of 2014 and by 47 bani per vote at the local poll of 2015.
Thus, the Socialists Party (PSRM) will benefit of 4.3 million, the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) – 4.2 mn, and the Communists (PCRM) – 3.7 mn.
The Democratic Party (PDM) will get 3.3 mn for those 252,000 votes, while the Liberal Party (PL) – 2 mn lei.
The PLDM will get 4.2 mn for its results in the 2015 local elections, and the PDM – 4.1 mn.
The Socialists will receive 3 mn, and the PL – 2,5 mn. The Communists will get 2 mn lei.
The independent candidates are not entitled to such funding, while the electoral blocs share the money equally.
