In 2018, about 22 percent of the over 350 thousand citizens of Moldova declared abroad were aged 25-34 years, another 20 percent - aged 35-44 years, and over 13 percent - aged over 45 years. 

According to the report, almost 240 thousand of people left abroad are men, most of them opted Russia or Germany while over 114 thousand of Moldovan abroad are women, most of them live in Italy and Russia. 

The number of foreigners living in Moldova is almost 15 times smaller than that of Moldovans living abroad.

At the beginning of 2019, only 23 thousand of foreign people are registered living in Moldova.
