Municipal trash bin of Balti is on fire for four days. What do authorities say
The trash bin from Bilicenii-Noi village, where the trash from Balti is stores is on fire for already four days, writes nordnews.md. The smoke disturbs the traffic in the nearby. According to director of the municipal Direction of Roads and Repair Works, Iurii Hmarnii, the reason of the fire is the lack of required technique that would allow the efficient compaction of garbage.
This subject was discussed by Hmarnii at the Wednesday session of the mayor and the directions' chiefs. He said that he asked the rescues to extinguish the flames three times.
"It is necessary to have a machine that would compactate the garbage. This way, the garbage won't catch fire", said Hmarnii.
As a reply, Nicolai Grigorisin, the mayor of Balti mentioned that the ones from DRCD should not be bothered by this problem.
Moreover, the Balti mayor accused the former administrators of the trash bin that they didn't do their job rightly:"In the last eight years, they didn't invest any money, but said that they invested 16 million lei. Badicenii-Noi and Tambula villages should solve this problem, not us."
In his turn, the co-founder of Salubrity Solutions, who dealt with the waste disposal in Balti and managed the polygon from the two villages until his disposal, believes that both the leaders of DRCD and Nicolai Grigorişin prove their incompetence:
"He can blame Biliceni and Ţambula as long as he wants, but the poligon today is managed by DRCD, not by Biliceni and Ţambula, and the two mayoralties receive no leu from the City Hall of Balti. villages are not happy in the given case, because, legally, the polygon is theirs, but it is managed by the Bălţi Roads Administration, the Municipal Enterprise",said Dumitru Rusnac, director of Salubrity Solutions.
Mayor of the village of Bilicenii-Noi, Ivan Orlovschi told to the reporter of nordnews that he does not comment on any statement by the Mayor, referring to who manages the polygon. He added that he will meet with Nicolai Grigorişin on Thursday, September 20, in Balti, where they will talk on the given topic.
At the beginning of summer, the plots of the polygon were transferred to the villages of Bilicenii-Noi and Ţambula.
