The three police officers which were detained yesterday by the NAC for bribery could remain in the isolator.
Anti corruption prosecutors are asking them to be placed under preventive arrest for 30 days. The request will be examined today by the magistrates of the Chisinau District Court based in Ciocana.
Police officers were detained after the raids of NAC officers' at the Ciocana Inspectorate. The three police officers are suspected of taking two thousand euros bribes from three suspected robbers in return for filing the file.
According to the NAC spokesman, Angela Starinschi, this is a sector policeman, a chief of staff and an investigative officer.
They would have taken the money in two installments, not knowing they were being followed by NAC officers. If they are found guilty, they risk up to ten years of jail.
The Police General Inspectorate condemns the actions of the three and states that it will provide all the support to investigate such cases.
