National Carpet Fair held in Chisinau

Dozens of traditional carpets, some older than two hundred years, were presented today, December 4th at the new edition of the National Carpet Fair entitled "Covorul dorului ".
The event has marked the entry of wall-carpet craftsmanship on UNESCO cultural heritage list. As in previous years, the festival did not lack songs and dances.
Craftmen have improvised workshops at the fair with traditional fabrics presented from the Gagauz and Bulgarians.
Some ethnographic museums have pun on display the oldest carpet copies. One of them is the "Puppet" carpet from Leova town, which has over 200 years.
