National Council for Coordinating Regional Development approved annual funding plan
Chiril Gaburici appreciated the results achieved after the implementation of 39 projects in 2017, which were included in the SNDR program at regional and local level, mentioning that the development of the regional infrastructure and the premises of the urban revitalization are a priority of both the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry Economy and Infrastructure.
In the report on the implementation of the National Regional Development Strategy, Dorin Andros, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM), presented the steps taken and the results achieved regarding the implementation of the projects distributed by field. Thus, for the water supply and sanitation, 11 projects were implemented, and for the regional and local roads infrastructure - 7 projects. Also, 7 projects were carried out for energy efficiency in public buildings, 8 projects for business infrastructure, 5 projects for increasing tourist attractiveness and one for solid waste management. According to Dorin Andros, the activities have been geared towards achieving specific objectives such as access to quality public services and utilities, sustainable economic growth in the regions, and improved governance in the area of regional development.
At the same time, in order to implement the projects funded by the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR), last year, 187 million lei were used, which represents 100% of the allocations from the NDF for 2017.
Also, at the meeting of the National Coordination Council for Regional Development, the Annual Financing Plan for the years 2017-2020 and the operational expenditures of the Regional Development Agencies were approved. The funds from the NDF and the development partners will be used to finance regional development projects. According to the draft state budget law for 2018, FNDR is allocated 200 million lei. In this context, the proposal of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction to allocate the NFRD's financial means envisaged for the year 2018 for the implementation of the regional development projects in the amount of about 185 million lei, as well as for the operational expenditures of the Regional Development Agencies North Center, South and ATU Gagauzia, about 15 million lei.
Today's meeting also discussed the premises of urban revitalization in the Republic of Moldova, which contributes directly to increasing the attractiveness of business investments and improving public services, as well as to increasing tourist attractiveness.
