NBM data: Moldova uses almost 34 billion lei in coins and notes

Almost 24 billion lei in coins and paper lei are in circulation in our country. National Bank data show that more than 840 million coins and almost 284 million lei are used by Moldovans.
The most commonly used banknotes are a lion and two hundred lei, and the most common coins are those of 10 and 25 bani.
Thus, there are over 90 million lei denominated in a single currency, which is one third of their total and almost 67 million 200-lei banknotes, totaling more than 13 billion lei.
We still have around 70 million 100 and 50 lei banknotes.
In circulation there are over 130 million lei in coins. Nearly half a billion are the ones worth 10 and 25, respectively, and five money - over 220 million.
At the same time, the National Bank has put in circulation over 100 thousand coins and 47 thousand commemorative banknotes.
