Governor of the National Bank, Sergiu Cioclea, ends his mandate ahead of schedule.
He briefly announced in a briefing that he is leaving for personal reasons .
Cioclea took over the leadership of the Central Bank on 11 April 2016.
Sergiu Cioclea has a 17 year experience in the financial and banking sector. He has run for seven years a subsidiary of the "Paribas" franchise bank.
His resignation as Governor of the NBM was accompanied by the recommendation of the French banking department head "Paribas" Thierry Olive and the representatives of the "Societe Generale" Group, Herve Hascoet and Olivier de Boysson.
Also among those who recommended Sergiu Cioclea are former head of the International Monetary Fund, Jacques de Larosiere, and former head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Jean Lemierre.
