New details came to light in the case of the young woman and her child, who were forced to work with a sheep herd in Ucrainca, Causeni region. According to the border police, not only was the woman and her child forced to work, but a 13-year-old child was also involved. She was mistreated and worked involuntary throughout the years 2009-2010, afterwards having managed to run away.
PUNLIKA.MD reminds us that at the end of July the border police came to the knowledge that a villager from Puhoi, Ialoveni and her child, were forced to work by usage of physical and psychological oppression. The Magistrate of Causeni was also included in this investigation. Thus, a criminal group, by taking advantage, were forcing people to work for them and take care of their sheep herd.
At the moment, the owners of the sheep herd are also the main suspects in a second investigation- for child labor. If found guilty the suspects risk to spend the next 10 to 12 years behind the bars.
At the same time, the frontier police registered a similar case, which took place in Tocuz village, Causeni, where the owners of a household were investigated for human trafficking, with the aim of forced labor. Since spring 2015 to fall 2016, two men of 38 and 40-year-old, both from Causeni region, were kept and forced to work, against their will, with the sheep herd from Tocuz.
The frontier Police continues to investigate all those cases, in order to determine the circumstances under which the crime was made and take the necessary legal measures.
