New Romanian ambassador to Moldova SPECIFIES when loan will be disbursed
Romania will offer Moldova the first installment of the EUR 150 million loan, summing EUR 60 million, only after the Government in Chisinau inks a technical agreement with IMF, said the new Romanian ambassador in the Republic of Moldova Daniel Ionita in an interview for Radio Chisinau.
The Romanian ambassador said he is optimistic regarding Moldova authorities’ ability to negotiate a new funding agreement with IMF in a way that will allow the first installment of the Romanian loan to be sent as soon as possible.
“We are ready to send the first installment of this loan when all the promised measures that were promised and that are well known by the authorities in the Republic of Moldova will be completely fulfilled,” said Ionita.
Regarding the Transnistrian issue, the ambassador declared that any solution that will be found has to take into consideration the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.
“Romania follows closely the regulation of the Transnistrian conflict, clearly favoring a negotiated political solution that is based on the respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, a solution that has to be arranged in the existent 5+2 format,” said the Romanian ambassador, Business Review writes.
