New traffic light management system for 22 intersections from the Capital was presented
Interim Mayor, Ruslan Codreanu had a working visit Thursday at the Center for Control and Direction of Traffic Signals in IMM. REI "Lumteh", where was present the new traffic light management system for 22 traffic intersections from the Capital.
The modernization of the electronic traffic control system in Chisinau, with objectives of traffic lights managed by GSM / 3G and equipped with data collection devices, will ensure adaptive transport organization in peak hours or in case of accidents. The cost of modernization works is 950 thousand lei, money from the municipal budget.
Ruslan Codreanu said that the intelligent system, currently under test regime, will make of traffic more free the in problematic areas, especially on the access or exit routes of the city. "Online, dispatchers at the Control Center will monitor the traffic flow and will be able to calculate the times for the movement of the traffic lights at intersections", said the Mayor.
In his turn, the IM REI "Lumteh" chief engineer, Antolie Aparatu said that traffic lights with LED equipment will have a longer period of operation, increased visibility and lower consumption than the old ones, as well as the possibility of viewing the targets on the map interactive city.
Also, in 10 other intersections from the Capital, 66 traffic lights and 42 pedestrian LED lights will be upgraded, equipped with a stopwatch.
The works will be executed within one month, and for this purpose, 700,000 lei were provided in the municipal budget.
From 182 traffic lights in the city, 115 are remote.
