New US Ambassador to Moldova Derek J. Hogan sent a special message to Moldovans (VIDEO)
US Ambassador in Moldova Dereck J. Hodan made an introduction video about himself and his plans being the New US Ambassador in Moldova.
In this video he mentioned about his dream from the childhood to become an official person in his life, to know a lot about diversity of nations and how he started to study international relations becoming at 23 years a diplomat.
"Ever since I was teenager I knew I wanted to become a diplomat. In 1990 my parents enrolled me in a summer program for high school students interested in foreign affairs where I heard two U.S. diplomats speak about their role in facilitating the end of the Cold War.
At that moment I decided to focus my studies on international relations and joined the Foreign Service at the age of 23.
My favorite childhood memories are of travelling across the United States by car and admiring the rich tapestry of cultures in our country. I developed a deep appreciation of unity and strength in diversity.
Moldova, too, is a diverse country with a rich history and culture.
I know citizens of Republic of Moldova speak different languages, as Russian, Ukrainian, Gagauz, and other. I also speak Russian and I look forward to communicate with all citizens of Moldova during my travels across your country".
Derek J Hodan also said about his family and noted that he will be happy to travel in Moldova being accompanied with his wife and children.
"I am married to Anny, my wife of 19 beautiful years, and we have a teenage daughter named Hannah. Together we are exited to explore your beautiful vineyards, villages, and cities and enjoy all that Moldova has to offer, includind sarmale and mamaliga!
We love nature and the outdoors too and are also always up for an adventure!
As Ambassador, I respect and admire the tenacity of your country in securing independence and building a democratic, stable and prosperous society.
The United States has always been a faithful partner and friend and will continue to be so for Moldova.
So please connect with me on the Embassy's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts and share your ideas on how we can work together!"
