Nine person from Ungheni, including a teacher, arrested for drug trafficking

Nine persons, among whom a teacher, aged between 20 -32, all from Ungheni were arrested. Five of the suspects were previously sentenced for hooliganism, theft and drugs. In the house of the PE teacher, officers found weapons and ammunition.
The men had a well planned scheme to manufacture and then sell marijuana, at a price of 150 lei per gram and amphetamine at the price of 600 lei per gram. The amphetamine was smuggled from abroad and then sold in Moldova.
The young men were arrested and after 23 searches, law enforcement confiscated close to 250 grams of amphetamine, 500 grams of marijuana, dried cannabis leaves, electronic scale, packages with zip locks, equipment for drug consumption, SIM cards and cells phones, as well as money gained by selling drugs. Officers also found 4 guns and multiple cartridges, all owned illegally.
The drugs are estimated to be worth nearly 250 000 lei.
Four of the suspects were arrested for 30 days, while the other five are investigated. For drug trafficking, the suspects risk from 7 to 15 years of imprisonment.
