Nine teachers recognized best and awarded prize money by Government
Last evening, nine teachers were awarded during an event held at National Palace "Nicolae Sulac". The prizes for "Teacher of the Year" were handed by PM Pavel Filip and Minister of Education, Monica Babuc.
First place was given to Marianei Pârţac, who has been teaching pupils Romanian Language and Literature for the past 20 years.
"It is not easy to participate in competitions, while also being a teacher at school. I have two boys, to whom I promised gifts, for all the patience they have shown and for all the time that I could not spend with them" Marianei Pârţac declared.
Three teachers won first place and went home with 50 thousand lei, while those on second and third places, with 25 and 15 thousand lei. Over 2 thousand guests that have participated at the even were entertained by the Moldova National Opera Ballet's orchestra.
"We feel like teachers daily, but today we forgot about it for a bit."
"I am very happy that the Ministry had organized such an event for us."
PM Pavel Filip has congratulated the winners and assured all teachers that the Government is doing its best to solve all current issues the educational system encounters.
"We understand that the issues from the educational system cannot be solved separately, as it is linked with all the other important social fields."
"Government of Republic of Moldova has done everything it can so far, to rise the teacher's salaries. While it is not the full extend of what we wished for, those are small steps that will be followed by other."
The guests were entertained by local singers such as Mariana Bulicanu, members from Acord and Cristi Aldea Teodorovici.
