Number of mortgage contracts grew with 30% last year
The number of mortgage contracts increased by 30 percent last year, compared with 2016. The increase is due to the improvement of the national economy and the increase of the citizens' welfare.
According to official data, about 25 000 mortgage contracts were recorded in 2017. Most of them, about 12 thousand, were signed for the purchase agricultural land.
More than 8 500 people took apartments and individual houses in the mortgage, and just over three thousand businesses purchased commercial buildings. More than 600 contracts have been signed for the purchase of other real estate.
"Most of the mortgages 28% are in Chisinau, most of them mortgages on apartments, 73% of total mortgages in 2017," said Diana Nani, specialist of Cadastre Department, ASP .
Economic experts say that the return of the national economy has led to an increase in the number of mortgage contracts.
"There was certain certainty about the economic stability, but also some means emerged. The means have arisen due to the stabilization of the remittances volumes due to certain salary increases which have been repeated, due to the stabilization of the public finances," said economic expert Roman Chirca.
Citizens say the mortgage is a solution for those who can not afford to buy an apartment.

At the end of the last year, the Parliament adopted First House project. In the project can participate citizens aged up to 45, who are employed and don't have other immobile.
The state guarantees 50% from the loan. In 2018, the state budged provided a fund of 50 million lei.
