Number of veterans treated free by Prosthesis Center to double
The number of veterans treated free by Prosthesis Center will grow twice. The topic was discussed by the patients of the hospital with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan and Labor Minister Stela Grigoraş, as they paid a visit to the compound.
The National Prosthesis Center manages to annually treat about 800 veterans. They maintain it’s a small number and ask that out of those about 40,000 Moldovan veterans, at least 1,800 should be treated free of charge.
Pavel Filip has already given instructions to raise the number of places available at the hospital: "We decreased the expenses in the state budget and 1.3 million lei more will be allotted to this center. That means 100 veterans more will be rehabilitated."
The hospital manager expects the number of patients to go up after the money was allocated.
50,000 patients needing prosthesis are presently recorded, almost 20 % of them being veterans.
