Moldova is likely to host the 2019 European Weightlifting Championships for sportspeople aged 20-23. Chair of the European Weightlifting Association Antonio Urso and Moldovan Sports Minister Victor Zubcu have discussed the issue. 

As many as 600 sportspeople from 38 countries may come to Moldova for the contest in 2019.

The final decision will be taken on April 2 at the Congress of the European Federation in Croatia.

Moldova has never hosted such a championship.
