Authorities have increased the weight limit of vehicles crossing the Nistru bridge from 3.5 tons to 10 tons. The decisions were taken as the bridge met the technical requirements that trucks could cross, according to experts. 

The bridge connecting two villages Gura Bâcului and Baciuc was reopened in November 2017 after a 25-year break.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselski.

The bridge was blasted in 1992. In the early 2000s, the repair of the bridge was carried out and was financed by European funds.
