The old blocks of flats are dangerous, especially in case of an earthquake. The damages can reach one billion USD and people can lose their dwellings. 

In order to avoid such incidents, the buildings should be verified.

Igor Sirbu architect says that in case of an earthquake, a tragedy would have occurred in Orhei.

"This is why should thank God that this happened naturally and there wasn't any persons who suffered", mentioned Igor Sirbu.

In 2005, a fake earthquake occurred in the Capital and it showed that the damages of a real one would be high.

"These building should have been destroyed long ago. It is forbidden to demolish it, though", said Igor Nicoara, the director of ASM Geology Institut.

The expert says that people are guilty and they should come when the modifications are made. This is why, the authorities should verify the blocks of flats.

"The situation is grave, especially that people should make some changes against the law. 

In the capital the authorities need to invest half million Euro to check on the buildings.
