Mortgage loans within the First House project are becoming more accessible. One of the banks registered in the project has decreased its interest rate from 9,03% to 6,9%.
The change will be brought into force starting 23rd June. According to the bank's administration, the decision was taken because the program is a social one, while risks the institution is taking are not big.
At the moment, First House mortgage loans are offered at five banks. People can purchase any house that is on more expensive than one million lei. The down payment being of only 10%.
The First House Program was launched at the initiative of PM Pavel Filip and is active since 26th March. To this point, 158 people have submitted requests to gain loans.
