Opposition parties see eye to eye over dismissal of government
Maia Sandu admits that the PAS along with the parliamentary group PRO MOLDOVA and the Sor Party faction could vote for the dismissal of the Ion Chicu Government.
President of the PPDA faction, Alexandru Slusari, supports the consolidation of the opposition in order to overthrow the Government, but categorically refuses a possible coalition with these parties to create a new government.
On the other hand, President Igor Dodon points the finger at them and warns them of a political crisis as a result of this development.
In a Facebook live last night, Maia Sandu, the PAS leader, rejected the invitation made by PRO MOLDOVA to set up an anti-government bloc. She said the discussion could only take place on the parliamentary platform.
However, Sandu supports the idea of dismissing the Government together with PPDA, PRO MOLDOVA and the Șor Party faction.
"It's a very difficult choice for us: to try to name a better government for the citizens, taking all the political and image risks, including electoral ones, or to leave things as they are. I think that if you are honest with us, we must improve the situation of the citizens regardless of the consequences ", declared the PAS leader, Maia Sandu.
In a Facebook post, Alexandru Slusari wrote that the PPDA was ready to join the forces to dismiss this government and to create a pro-European cabinet.
"With a condition that we won't be asked to make a deal with the devil", he added.
According to Andrian Candu, the chairman of PRO MOLDOVA, the proposal to form an anti-government bloc on the dismissal of the Government does not involve the creation of coalitions.
"We will insist on consolidating as an opposition and we must not form a coalition nor an alliance, we must not sign papers and memorandum. We will communicate and find solutions and we will send this Government into history and find solutions to create another. Let's get the country ready for better or worse by the end of the year," said Andrian Candu.
The head of state, Igor Dodon, harshly criticized the opposition's intentions and was convinced that the Chicu government is coping with all the challenges.
"Do you want to start a political crisis? Do you want to start a possible move towards the early elections? We will deal with it. An acquaintance of mine said that if the fight is inevitable, let you hit first. You're making a rod for your own back", said the president Igor Dodon.
The initiative to dismiss the Government belongs to the parliamentary group PRO MOLDOVA. Andrian Candu called on the opposition factions, and deputies from the parliamentary majority to consolidate and form an anti-government bloc, saying that the rule of law has gone bankrupt and the executive lacks legitimacy. So far, only the deputies from the Șor faction have joined the idea.
Meanwhile, four deputies left the PDM faction and said they joined the initiative launched by PRO MOLDOVA. PDM President Pavel Filip said that those who leave the democratic faction want chaos in the country, and PDM opts to keep the current majority and the current Government. The prime minister's adviser, Vitalie Dragancea, urged the deputies who come with accusations to propose alternative solutions.
