Orhei will ban dusting rugs and setting up laundry in backyards
Residents of Orhei will no longer be able to dry their laundry or dust their carpets in the apartment block's backyard. Now they have a special place created solely for those taks. According to the decision taken by local authorities, the new restrictions will come into force starting 2018. Those who will breach it will be fined. It also foresees the usage of grills and throwing away trash in bags. The trash will have to be disposed of in dumpsters.
"We wish to be an example for the whole country. For this, we will create special places to dust carpets and dry laundry, so that it will not be done near children or resting places. It will not be allowed to be done in the backyard, but sections where there is at least some wind" municipal councilman of Orhei Pavel Verejanu explained.
"There are many blocks where people live and to avoid any health issues, special places will be created. We have not made it up, such things is practiced in Romania and European countries" municipal councilman of Orhei Grigore Svecla said.
Residents fully agree with those changes and claim that it will even improve the city's image:
"We must aim toward Europe. For example, we went to Europe and drying clothes outside is forbidden, as it ruins the view."
"It is not a bad idea. The dust does not look very civilized."
"It is not good, since all the dust goes right back into the house, though the winder and doors. Nor do I want to walk through rows of laundry. Let there be a special place for such things."
"It is a good ecological idea, second it will make yards looks better."
Authorities wish from 2018 to ban setting up laundry even on balconies facing the main street of the city. Another change is meant for economic agents. They will have to maintain land lots and pavement from their own expenses. In Orhei there are over 70 backyards surrounded by apartment blocks.
