Over 200 young from Chisinau competed for Democracy Trophy this weekend
Over 200 young from Chisinau have been fighting for Democracy Trophy. The event took place at a summer camp from Holercani village, Dubasari district and gathered a lot of members of the Democratic Youth from many sectors. During two days, they passed many tasks. The hardest were the competition at football and volleyball.
The participants say that the sport and the team spirit develops them.
"We are playing football and volleyball and we want to improve out team."
"It is important for us that we don't participate only at such championships, but also in other districts."
It was for the first time when an intellectual contest took place.
At the end of each day, the young had the possibility to discuss with the representatives of the democracy. They offered them advice on how can you succeed in politics.
It is a symbiosis of sports competitions with political schooling and organizing activities, mobilizing the assets of our youth organizations", said PDM deputy Veaceslav Nedelea.
"The University has to give you two very important weapons: knowledge and acquaintances. You do not have to know just the book you came to the first course and you graduated, you need to know everything and other universities and the political organization it is part of and the competitors and the country and the abroad", said the chairman of the PDM Youth Organization, Alexandru Cauia.
"We get new knowledge from our meeting with MPs and leaders, they share with their lives, with their experience that gives us an incentive to grow up."
"Trophy of Democracy" is at its 7th edition. At the end of August, a national round will take place and 2000 young democrats will participate.
