More than 2,600 parents in Moldova have asked the authorities to reopen kindergartens or to offer parents financial help during this period if possible so that they can hire nannies or stay at home with their children.

The parents' requests can be found in an online petition that was submitted to the Government. The petition is addressed to the Extraordinary National Commission for Public Health, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.

The parents' requests will also be sent to the People's Advocate.

The executive director of Parents in Solidarity, Ala Revenco mentioned that about 150 thousand children are currently enrolled in kindergartens.  

No representative of the institutions concerned has yet responded to the parents' requests.

PUBLIKA.MD reminds that director of the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), Nicolae Furtuna, who is also the secretary of the Extraordinary National Commission for Public Health, declared recently that the reopening of kindergartens is premature.
