The co-rapporteurs of the monitoring committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Valentina Leskaj and Ögmundur Jonásson, start a two-day visit to Moldova.

The PACE representatives will analyze the political developments, the preparations for the October 30 presidential plebiscite and the events in the Transnistrian area.

The officials are going to meet the President, the President of the Parliament, ministers and political leaders.

They will also meet diplomats and civil society activists.

They will go on Tuesday to Tiraspol to meet with political representatives from the left bank of the Nistru river.
