Parents will be able to see online how kindergartens are spending money
Parents will now be able to see online how kindergarten's administration from Capital is managing the money. Arrangements for this were issued by deputy Mayor Ruslan Codreanu. Those responsible believe that this initiative will offer transparency and destroy the myth that the state is not offering enough money for preschool institutions. Until 19th January, the budgets for this year will be published.
The information will include all spendings for food, hygiene and repair works.
"We all witnessed the discussions from last year that there were not enough personal hygiene products, but I was surprised to see that by the end of 2017, some kindergartens remained with no money on their accounts" Capital's deputy Mayor, Ruslan Codreanu said.
Until now, the kindergarten's administration was solely showing financial reports, while this information was not available for parents.
"We hope that this planning method will determine more efficient spendings, while at the same time, will reduce the risks of being accused, which society does toward us, in terms of corruption or illegally gaining money" interim chief of General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport, Viorica Negrei declared.
The initiative was enthusiastically accepted by both kindergarten's employees and parents.
"It is not enough to simply publish the information. Parents must implicate, to see how everything is managed" director of No. 152 preschool, Valentina Lungu said.
"For us to see where the money we give to the state through tax goes" an employee said.
"It is welcomed to monitor together, with all parents and to know what is being done with the money" another employee said.
The information will be published on the sector education department's websites and the portal egradinita.md. The latter was launched last July, but was not functioning until present. Authorities claims that this website will be ready for usage by the end of January.
"In five weeks we received over 10 petitions from parents who registered on the website, but had no information. Again, somewhere the human factor and bureaucracy interferes" Ruslan Codreanu said.
In the budget of this year, the municipality has allocated a little over two billion lei for education.
