Parliament: Electoral system modification, Venice Commission recommendations discussed

Further debates over the electoral system continued in Parliament.
The participants referred to the recommendation of the Venice Commission regarding female candidates running for parliamentary elections. The project's authors said they would propose reduction in number of signature required for women to run.
Likewise, they expressed their views on the voting of citizens from abroad as well as those from the Transnistrian region.
PDM Deputy Sergiu Sîrbu said the state register of left-Nistru voters who have Moldovan Green Card would be used in creating the constituencies. In addition, the borders of the Transnistrian constituencies will be delimited.
The draft law on mixed system was voted in First reading. The document stipulated that 50 deputies to be elected from party lists and 51 - directly by citizens.
