Women on maternity leave will receive higher allowance because the average monthly salary will be considered at the date of the allowance calculation, not the minimum salary.

A provision to this effect is stipulated in the draft law for amending the Law on the public pension system, which was voted by 82 MPs in Friday's Parliament meeting. 

Currently the minimum salary is taken into account when calculating the allowance for maternity leave up to 3 years.
