Parliament calls for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Moldova
The Parliament of Republic of Moldova
DECLARES that the continuous stationing of the Russian Federation troops and the consolidation of their military presence in the eastern part of the Republic of Moldova represent violations of the constitutional provisions, especially in relation to the independency, sovereignty, territorial integrity and permanent neutrality of the Republic of Moldova, as well as of the international law;
CONSIDERS that the keeping on the territory of the Republic of Moldova of a considerable volume of munitions, weapons and military equipment represents a constant threat for the regional and European security and stability, in general;
INVITES the mediators and observers in the process of regulating the Transnistrian conflict to initiate political discussions regarding the transformation of the current peace-keeping mechanism into a civil mission with international mandate;
CALLS upon the Russian Federation to recommence and finalize the process of withdrawing its troops, as well as of withdrawing its munitions, weapons and military equipment from the territory of the Republic of Moldova, in compliance with the relevant principles of the international law and its international arrangements;
ADDRESSES all the international organizations and the world states with the call to support its initiative to preserve the sovereignty, independency, territorial integrity and neutrality of the Republic of Moldova, as well to contribute, at the same time, to enhancing its efforts focused on safeguarding the security of the state;
UNDERLINES, as the supreme representative body of the people and the single legislative power, that it will further undertake all the efforts to maintain the statehood of the Republic of Moldova for the social-economic development of the country, for increasing the wellbeing of the nation and for ensuring the security of the citizens;
