President Igor Dodon wants to dissolve the Parliament and look for a legal solution in this regard. On the other hand, the Parliament factions seem to support this idea although they say it's not within Dodon's competence to get involved in this process.

"Parliament must be dissolved and early parliamentary elections must be held, the sooner the better, so that the next president, after the inauguration, has no other solution than to sign the decree dissolving parliament", said President Igor Dodon. 

The proposal has previously resonated among MPs.

Sergiu Litvinenco from PAS claims that his faction opts for early elections. He does not know exactly under what conditions the legislature could be dissolved.

"This means that from September 23 there should be no Government in office, or Parliament should not pass laws. Then the President would be obliged on the date of his inauguration to issue this dissolution decree", said SERGIU LITVINENCO, PAS MP. 

The president of the "DA" Platform faction, Alexandru Slusari, considers that Dodon's statements are populist. 

"Apart from some political aberrations, I do not see what Igor Dodon has in mind", said ALEXANDRU SLUSARI, president of the DA Platform faction. 

Meanwhile, the leader of the PRO MOLDOVA parliamentary group, Andrian Candu, says that Dodon should not get involved in this process.

"It is not President Dodon who has to decide or take action on this Parliament or any early elections. That must be done by the political class that will be active in the post-presidential period", said ANDRIAN CANDU, President of PRO MOLDOVA.

President of the PSRM faction, Corneliu Furculiță, did not answer our phone call immediately.

Earlier, the Socialists stated that the current Parliament no longer represents the vote of the citizens in the February 2019 elections and must be dissolved.

PDM representatives also did not respond to our calls for comment.
