PAS-DA to announce divorce and sign cooperation agreement of ACUM bloc
PAS-DA will announce their divorce in public at noon today. According to the sources of PAS party, the signing of a so-called "cooperation agreement" of ACUM bloc is planned this time, writes actual.md.
The same sources also say that the document describes the mechanism of parliamentary cooperation between the two factions. The project was drawn up by the people of Maia Sandu to explain the separation decision to the public.
The PPDA leader, Andrei Nastase, exerted pressure to create a single faction and he would be its leader. However, Sandu insisted on separation with a mechanism of collaboration.
According to the sources from DA party, Nastase is angry with Sandu because she had been working on the document for a long time behind his back.
At the last minutes, DA party delegated the party's deputy, Alexandru Slusari, to coordinate the content of the agreement.
One point of the document disturbed Andrei Nastase very much. It stipulated that PAS and DA will join in the local elections. Moreover, Maia Sandu will reserve the right to nominate the candidate for Chisinau's City Hall, the position targeted by Nastase.
Andrei Nastase said he couldn't sign the document without the consent of the National Council of his party. Finally, after continuous quarrels, the two came to the agreement that the document would be signed on Tuesday.
It is also worth mentioning that the agreement has no legal power and is merely a statement of intent.
