Pavel Filip: All involved in case of man who died after waiting 40 minuted for ambulance to come will be punished
Pave Filip, the prime minister of Moldova asked the Ministry of Health to investigate the case of the man who died because the ambulance came too late. Also, the prime minister asked the director of the Emergency Medical Assistance and the ambulance doctor to resign.
"From my point of view, it is terrible. A 65 year old man died because the ambulance was 45 minutes late. I have seen the opinion of many people. I think that the General Prosecutor's Office should start an investigation on this case. Today, the Ministry of Health presented me a report. Chisinau is not a big city and this case was impossible to occur.
The explanations of the emergency doctors were more revolting. They presented me fake information, as they forgot that the cars have GPS. The explanation that we don't have enough cars also doesn't work. On that moment there were 14 free cars.
On the other side, the driver said that the car got broken on the way to the patient.
What is more painful is the attitude of the doctors. You know that I respect the doctors. I know how difficult it is to be a doctor, I know that their salaries are too low. But, this is not a reason to have such an attitude to your job.
When the doctors came at the place of the accident, they said "You know in what country do we live" - we know that we live in a country where not everybody fulfills their working duties.
Another problem is that the ones who work at 112 should have redirected the call and sent another ambulance.
I analyzed the case and convened that the doctors on the ambulance and the director of the Chisinau Emergency Medical Assistance should resign.
Also, I request the department doctor, the vice director of logistics and the state secretary of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection to be punished", said Pavel Filip.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that a man died last week after he has been waiting 40 minutes for the emergency doctors. The incident took place on Lech Kaczynski street from the Center of the Capital.
