Pavel Filip and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum confirmed cooperation interest of Moldova and United Arab Emirates
Pavel Filip, the Prime Minister of Moldova had a meeting with the deputy President of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The officials appreciated the relationship between those two counties.
Pavel Filip said he is very thankful for creating the Republic of Moldova's Embassy to UAE, that is placed in Abu Dhabi and a General Consulate in Dubai.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the Chisinau authorities want to avoid the visas regime for the Moldovan citizens in UAE. In this context, Pavel Filip said that in March, 2017, Republic of Moldova abolished the visa regime for the UAE. At his turn, the vice leader of UAE said that now, they think about abolishing the visas for the Moldovan citizens.
Another subject is operating direct flights from Republic of Moldova to the UAE.
The officials welcomed the resumption of Chisinau-Dubai flights in November 2017, but also, other low-cost operations. Thus, Fly Dubai company was interested in launching Dubai-Chisinau direct flights from March 2018.
These measures will develop relationship between Moldova and UAE and increase the volume of trade and investments. In this context, Pavel Filip invited the UAE companies to participate at the privatization process from Republic of Moldova and said that Republic of Moldova is interested to increase the investments in IT, agriculture, financial services and aviation. In this sense, the officials convened to organize some affairs quorums in Republic of Moldova and UAE.
Also, the officials exchanged their opinions according to Republic of Moldova's participation at Expo 2020 Exhibition from Dubai and to organize the "Discover Moldovan investment opportunities" quorum in UAE.
