Pavel Filip asks PG for intimation to investigate cases of dubious land management of agricultural education institutions
The topic of the disastrous situation in the agricultural research and education institutions in the country was discussed today at a meeting convened by Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
"We have institutions that simply rob the state-require money from the budget that is spent inefficiently. At the same time, from the agricultural land they own, the income is zero lei. Roday we can invest there a lot of money but the disaster will increase", said Pavel Filip.
The budget allocated to these institutions is about 312 million lei. The area of agricultural and agricultural education institutions exceeds 11 thousand hectares and most of them have been transferred to the management of technological / didactic - experimental stations created in 2008, which are currently insolvent.
"There were schemes that could get their hands on these agricultural lands. We have to ask the General Prosecutor's Office to get involved, to see the basis on which the agricultural land was ceded, why these resorts went into insolvency", underlined the Prime Minister.
Other problems that was mentioned relate to the training of specialists that the economy does not need, the training of outdated equipment, the high share of technical staff to the teaching staff, low impact research.
"The worst, I think, is the educational process." There are no specialists in the agrarian sector who are trained and the employment rate of the graduates of the colleges is less than 30% in the field of education and research in the field of agriculture, starting with the schools professional-technical up to the university and research institutions, we need to understand what optimizations and reorganizations we are doing so that we have efficiency", concluded Pavel Filip.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip ordered the creation of a working group to propose solutions to overcome the critical situation in the field. Its activity will focus on two priority directions:
1. Elaboration of a restructuring plan for the network of vocational schools, colleges, universities, agricultural research institutions;
2. Referral to the Prosecutor's Office for investigating cases of insolvency induction of technological / didactic-experimental stations that administer the fields of agricultural education and research institutions.
Actually, there are 41 research and education institutions in the Republic of Moldova with agrarian profile.
