The importance of establishing direct contacts with representatives of the local public authorities for the rapid settlement of the problems in the localities was mentioned today at the joint meeting of the members of the Cabinet of Ministers and representatives of the local public administration in the district of Călăraşi. The prime minister said that after a short break, the visits to the territory are resumed in order to increase the responsiveness of the authorities to the needs of the citizens and to streamline the process of modernizing the communities.
"These visits have proven to be effective, because we then carefully look at all the issues that have been spoken of, all the questions that have been asked and their realization. And I want to tell you that we have results. In the visits I have made in other districts, many problems are solved. It is good and efficient to work in the office but without talking directly with people, things are not moving so fast", said the Prime Minister.
As an example, the Prime Minister brought the issue raised by several citizens about insufficient water supply and sewerage - a master plan for the country is to be developed by the end of the year. Another common problem, including for Causeni district, is the storage of waste. This year, a plan will be developed to solve this problem and later sources will be identified for its implementation. "Money is not always important, it is important to know what you want to do, many things can be solved by good organization and efficient management," the Prime Minister stressed.
Other areas that the Executive will focus on are reforming the pension system, implementing health reforms and improving the business environment to further generate growth. "Miracles do not exist. Work, you bring money into the budget and you have the opportunity to make social investments", the prime minister underlined.
During the discussions, the representatives of the local public authorities addressed several problems, including the repair of the access roads to the localities. Pavel Filip mentioned that this will be provided in the "Good roads 2" project, which is scheduled for 2019. Also, the problems encountered by citizens in the marketing of agricultural production were discussed. In this regard, the prime minister said that the Executive intends to launch the Agricultural Market project, which will help the farmers.
Other topics addressed were teachers' salaries, insufficient funding of educational institutions, and problems in the judiciary. The prime minister said that "no problem will remain unattractive and no question will remain unanswered". All problems will be systematized by the government team to identify optimal solutions.
