Prime Minister Pavel Filip met today with a delegation of the US Congress, visiting our country.

The Prime Minister said that the Republic of Moldova pay special attention to the bilateral relations with the USA and appreciated the good cooperation between the countries.

The Prime-Minister highlighted US support in settling the Transnistrian conflict. At the same time, Pavel Filip stressed the importance of strengthening the security of the country as well as of the energy security.

The Prime Minister also referred to the most important reforms implemented by the Government, which ensured the stabilization of the banking sector and a steady economic growth, averaging 4% in the last 3 years.

At the same time, the Government's actions to improve the business environment have helped to increase the flow of investment. Thus, a group of important American companies also showed interest to invest in our country.

"We want to capitalize as much as possible the economic and investment potential of the Moldovan-American bilateral relations", said Pavel Filip.

In this context, the Prime Minister remarked that this year we mark the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Moldova-North Carolina Bilateral Partnership, which is an example of beneficial cooperation over the years. Nowadays, with the support of North Carolina, several projects in the defense, social and educational fields are being implemented in our country.

Representatives of the US Congress appreciated the bilateral dialogue, expressing their interest in further strengthening bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest.
