Pavel Filip: Child sexual harassment is a taboo that has no place in society
Pavel Filip has declared at today's Government meeting that sexually abusing a child is a grave taboo and such cases have to be eliminated. Information on this subject must be concrete and the necessary measures have to be taken in order to combat this phenomenon.
Earlier today Committee for culture, education, and youth of the Parliament held hearings where children were abused in educational institutions.
"It is a problem, regardless of where the abuse happens, be it in school, kindergarten or even at home. We must see what measure we can take in order to perish such situations not only from schools, but also from the whole society. This situation must not be left alone" Pavel Filip mentioned.
Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc has announced that a briefing will be held on this topic, where concrete cases will be discussed regarding children being sexually abused.
"There are specific actions responsible ministries should take in case of abuse and all information must be made available to the public on its website. In order to avoid any errors, we will host a briefing on this topic and come up with solutions" Babuc declared.
