Prime Minister Pavel Filip had a meeting with the General Secretary of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili, who is in the Republic of Moldova on the occasion of the third edition of the World Wine Tourism Conference.
At the meeting Pavel Filip mentioned that the Republic of Moldova has a great potential in these areas and wishes to make full use of it.
"We have special wineries, beautiful monasteries, and hospitable people and a tasty cuisine, all of which are the ingredients for the development of domestic tourism. We want to promote the Republic of Moldova as an attractive country for investment and tourism," said Pavel Filip.
The Prime Minister said that the government supports the wine industry, which has increased both value and quality in recent years, increasing the country's investment attractiveness and developing internal tourism. In order to achieve these objectives, the Investment Agency was created, which is a link between the Executive and the private sector.
Zurab Pololikashvili has confirmed the support of the World Tourism Organization for the development of rural, agricultural and environmental tourism in our country that are becoming increasingly popular globally.
At the same time, the official invited the Prime Minister Pavel Filip to participate next year at the International Tourism Exhibition in Madrid, Spain, which is an important platform for promoting tourism.
